Monarch Butterfly

You never know when an opportunity will present. I shot this photo while in the backyard of our friends’ home this past week-end. I was looking for birds, but only the Monarch showed. Although rebounding a bit in recent years, this creature’s population has been dwindling due to the cutting of their preferred forests while wintering in Mexico. (Exposure: 1/750 @ f5.6, 390mm, ISO 400, Canon EOS 60D)
